How long have you been in coffee?

16 Years

Which countries have you taught in?

Australia

What's your favorite coffee origin?

Who's your favourite child? I can't choose! Honestly I love the variety of flavours we can explore.

What do you think are the benefits of taking the Q?

There are so many benefits to the Q, direct and indirect. Coffee is literally everywhere and with such a diverse supply chain across different lands and cultures, building a common language for quality is critical. On a personal level, the opportunity to really test and validate your coffee assessment skills within a thoughtfully constructed curriculum is awesome. Aside from that, the Q course is an inspiring week away from 'normal work' to immerse yourself in the beverage we love, amongst passionate industry folks in a positive environment.

What languages do you speak?

English

What other activities do you do in the coffee industry?

I wear a wide range of hats in coffee - from education, judging Barista Championships, some sourcing, project management, a little coffee writing and helping run Five Senses Coffee.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I've worked my way through the café world as a barista and manager, set up training academies, wrote curriculum, judged multiple times at the World Barista Championships and have been working with a great wholesale specialty coffee roaster out of Melbourne for over 13 years. When I'm not doing coffee, I love to cook for people, enjoy hunting down natural wines and traveling the world!
