Taking the Q-Grading course creates awareness about quality and about requirements and skills that are needed in order to assess coffee objectively and in a consistent manner. For me that is the more important thing, that the participants realize, that Grading and Quality Control of coffee is not just about tasting, it requires a deeper understanding of many different topics. Having a good understanding of the Q-System makes communication of cuppers easier because it provides a common language and a standardized procedure, that can be applied anywhere.
