How long have you been in coffee?
I have been involved in the coffee industry since 2009 to work with coffee farmers and became certified Q Arabica and Robusta in 2012. This is more than 15 years.
Which countries have you taught in?
Thailand and Turkiye
What's your favorite coffee origin?
To put it simply, Thailand is where I grew up. However, I have also visited other coffee regions such as Guatemala, Java, Brazil, and Kenya - places that I love as well.
What do you think are the benefits of taking the Q?
The Q Grader Programs, whether QE or QP program, are excellent choices for anyone looking to become a coffee professional. While there are other programs around the world, CQI and Q Programs have a unique vision and mission and we understand the quality of coffee education.
Our training equips you to become a coffee specialist with implicit and explicit knowledge, ethics, and critical thinking, leading to your own future as a coffee expert. Q instructors acquire additional experience and long-term learning by becoming instructors and opening their own classes, which enhances the value of Q Programs.
Additionally, we supervise the Q at Venue, which is considered the top lab in the world. In these classes, you can meet coffee lovers from around the glove, sharing cultures and gaining valuable insights about various coffee regions - knowledge that goes beyond the classroom.
What language/s do you speak?
I speak Thai and English.
What other activities do you do in the coffee industry?
I enjoy volunteering in coffee producing countries, either teaching or helping with processing. I also attend Coffee Expos, and my favorite activity is the 'Cupping Exchange’. I’ve collaborated with non-producing countries by establishing a coffee lab and sharing information about specialty coffee chains and their coffee quality requirements through my experiences. I find joy in connecting people to one another. It is my belief that coffee people are a community, and the primary focus of specialty coffee is communication, which is referred to as 'Common Language'
Anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you to CQI for providing a platform for coffee people who want to be more than just coffee drinkers. I have found myself in the mist before, but I have faith in the organization. Today, I am a Q Instructor and I know that my knowledge is available to everyone who needs to learn and become like us.
