When did you start in coffee?
2011
In which countries have you taught?
I have taught in the UK, Italy and Ireland.
What's your favorite coffee origin?
Tough question, Colombia, because of its diversity of flavors from the many different regions, Guatemala because of my first wow moment and experience of specialty coffee and Kenya as a beautiful country with many special memories.
What do you think are the benefits of taking the Q?
The benefits of taking the Q are numerous. Meeting other like-minded professionals in the industry, and the connections that brings. The opportunity to learn to calibrate together, over the course of a week, and recognition from others in the coffee industry. I'm still in touch with many of my former students and the original cohort that I took the Q with!
What languages do you speak?
I speak English fluently and French to an average standard.
What other activities do you do in the coffee industry?
Currently, I'm just starting the 3rd year of helping to develop a coffee project in an International High School in Switzerland. The students train as baristas, serve coffee each day and recently had their first origin trip. We are now looking at roasting coffee within the school. I also work in general consulting for various companies throughout Europe and the UK.
