Outside of coffee, what is your favorite hobby?
I do have three unrelated hobbies at this moment but today I will only reveal one to make it short. It is a SMP which stands for Scarp Micro Pigmentation like tattoos - only targeted on baldhead. I started learning the technique from my barber, of course it was a paid course! and kept up with practicing for a year, competed in 2022 and placed third in rank out of 350 contestants! I simply fell in love with tattooing on people’s bald head not only because the time fly so fast as if I teach my Q class, incredibly that time also passes very fast but also, I tend to fee myself very proud especially I am providing them with a joy and a pride to be a man without any bald spots!
I may possibly further develop my hobby into a second job once I retire from training coffee. Make sure that you kindly know bald headed people should always look on the bright side because there is always hope in our lives!
What is the thing you enjoy the most about teaching CQI education?
There are two things I enjoy when it comes to training CQI education:
1. I get to cup many different coffees from different origins! Many thanks to CLI.
2. And I get to travel a lot to different countries and experience different cultures. This can be good and bad - the bad part is that I get less time to spend time with my family - but the good part is, I get to be alone!
What type of industry books, resources or materials are you currently reading?
I had published my own book in 2021 called “Cupping Bible” only published in Korean language for now. Since, I am working on roasting, this new book will be titled as “Roasting Bible”. In order to do research, I am referencing all the issues of the magazine called The Roast. I feel like I am more confident in writing after reading all the issues ever published.
